SEH Technology Inc. has added the PS06 Ethernet network interface card to its print server portfolio for Hewlett-Packard (HP) output devices with an EIO port. This PS06 Ethernet print server is IPv6-enabled and includes high-level security features such as several IEEE 802.1x standard authentication methods and print data encryption during transmission.
The PS06 is the follow-up model to SEH's IC106-FAST-HP-TX interface card. Based on SEH's PS series hardware platform, the PS06 model supports network printing via IPv6 in Ethernet networks including socket, LPR, and IPP printing. In addition, the device is fully functional operating on IPv4. Compared to its precursor, the PS06 significantly speeds up printing via HTTPs encryption, said the company.
The multi-protocol print server works with all common operating systems including Windows, Linux, UNIX, Apple, and Novell. The latest ThinPrint print client provides for bandwidth-optimized network printing and ThinPrint SSL decoding. The PS06 is equipped with a security package that includes access protection, encryption (SSL, TLS, etc.), comprehensive IEEE 802.1x authentication, and certificate management.
Support services include e-mail and phone support, regular firmware updates as well as a three-year guarantee, which is extended to five years when the product is registered.
